The hotel was a great value for the price we paid.
The hotel restaurant was delicious. Hotel manager was a bit abrasive, curt and unfriendly overall. His staff was excellent and made up for his personal shortcomings. A warm welcome from his staffers at every turn!
Not easily accessible-- stairs leading up to lobby are difficult to traverse for the elderly and the handicapped accessible entrance is not well marked or well lit.
The Hotel Majestic is a classic, Old-San Francisco hotel. It's a pleasure to find a hotel that's old-fashioned in style, but modern in functionality. The bar is something out of a Chandler or Hammett novel.
The evening reception staff were far form efficient and rude to every single customer. Additionally they made several mistakes doing the bill and charging the due amounts.
Small room, dust, not friedly reception personnel
overpriced for what you get, restaurant not opened on Monday, rooms not ready for check in.Suites are very small and no privacy
Despite being very old and run-down, the rooms have some kind of charme. Good location.
We were "welcomed" by a very rude lady named Maria at the reception and for this reason I only stayed 1 night instead of the 4 I had booked and moved to another hotel. The hotel is old and seems to contain chemicals that can cause cancer and other diseases.
I really enjoyed the hotel, but my husband did not like the quaintness of the age of the hotel. The tub needed some attention and the room needed a major dusting with all the fabric on the windows and bed. Whom ever insttalled the black out shades used the worng bracktets on the shades and they stuck out to far from the window and let in to much light. However, I would rebook for a return trip. The resturant is great and the people are really nice.
Restaurant was closed on Monday, so we had to walk several blocks to get breakfast.
The staff was the only thing I liked.
Everything other than the staff. The bed was likely what I liked the least, oh wait no air. How can they charge those kind of rates.
Hotel Majestic is a lovely Edwardian hotel. We recently had a pleasant stay in the hotel. It is attractively furnished. The hotel dining room provides an excellent and well priced breakfast.
Some furnishings are a little worn. Our bathroom was spacious and clean, except for a stained shower curtain. There is no air conditioning, but an open window provides adequate ventilation for summer in San Francisco.
Lovely stylish hotel with an individual feel to all rooms and public areas. Helpful staff and excellent Italian restaurant.
The restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday.
I liked the feel and comfort of the hotel, as well as the price. Also, the fact that it was in a residential area was pretty cool!
Just the kindness of the two guia that atended us at noom. Besides that everything was a nightmare! The room was hotter than the hell! And there was no to turn off! We should to open the Windows to cooler the room and hear all the streets noises! We end up leaving the hotel at 3 am to find another place to rest! I have been in many hotels and it never hapened before! A trilou nightmare!
I ve hate everything!
I loved the vintage feel of the hotel. It captures everything one imagines about San Francisco and its heritage. All around I enjoyed the experience. Granted it is not new and does not offer all of the perks of a new hotel but as a boutique hotel it certainly is full of charm, history and romance. I will be staying there again and will highly recommend it to family and business associates. THANK YOU Richard Klein
I think there could be details that could be kept up a bit better. For example the bed canopy draping was loose and would take merely a moment to put back in its place. Perhaps housekeeping could be a little more on the look out for little quick repairs and minor upkeep when it comes to things like this. The hotel just needs to show a little more love and pride when it comes from the employees/housekeeping etc. But I am not truly complaining. I am just speaking from an historical point of view. The hotel is unique and charming and a little more respect for this grande dame of a hotel would be nice to see.
